The Directors: Francis Ford Coppola

I have a Coppola complex.  I think the guy was at his very best in the 1970’s.  I mean, both “Godfathers”, “The Conversation” AND “Apocalypse Now”.  I mean…that is fucking impressive.  But ever since those four works of brilliance, he’s made some very poor films – “Jack” with Robin Williams; need I say more?  His efforts with “Garden of Stone”, “Tucker” and “The Cotton Club” are worth while, and while I still with slightly defend “Godfather Part 3” it is an abomination to the franchise.

1)  “Apocalypse Now”

2)  “The Godfather Part II”

3)  “The Conversation”

4)  “The Godfather”

5) “Peggy Sue Got Married”

6)  “Garden of Stone”

7)  “Tucker”

8)  “Cotton Club”

9)  “The Godfather Part III”

10)  “Dracula”
