Poll Results Are In!!!

Watchmen polls results are in. Could you fucks pick a more cliché Watchmen (I still abide by it – believe me).

1. Rorschach

This is an admirable pick. I didn’t vote for Rorschach – but I still admire you who did.

2. Dr. Manhattan

This surprised me, I would have thought The Comedian would have made number 2. I think Dr. Manhattan is an excellent character, I find him so fucking interesting. “If only you could perceive time the way I do.”

3. The Comedian

“It’s a joke. It’s all a joke, mother forgive me.”

Tied for 4th!

Silk Specter II – Odd pick but I love it.

Ozymandias – My vote. Obviously. He’s the one of the greatest anti-heroes ever.

Author: Frank Mengarelli

Everybody relax, Frank's here. After going to film school at Columbia College Chicago, Frank decided to underachieve with his vast knowledge of film into a career in civil service. Frank had a brief stint as a film blogger, and then he met the heterosexual love of his life, Nick Clement. The two instantly bonded over their love from everything to Terence Malick to THE EXPENDABLES films. Some of Frank's favorite filmmakers are Terence Malick, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Sylvester Stallone, Oliver Stone and Spike Lee. Some of his favorite films are THE TREE OF LIFE, STAR WARS (all of them), BAD LIEUTENANT, THE THING and ALL THAT JAZZ. Frank spends his free time with his dog Roger, collecting any Star Wars collectible he can find and trying to finish his pretentious, first person narrative novel(la), LARGE MEN IN SMALL CARS..

  1. I think Manhattan is the most interesting character in the book, and one of the most fascinating explorations of the superhero ever committed to print.

Rorschach is great (and hugely influential), but Manhattan all the way.

  2. I think Ozymandias might’ve been where the movie went wrong. Maybe if you give him more screen time and develop the character a little more? I dunno, something about how they portrayed him just didn’t settle with me.

I voted for Rorschach. Cliche? Sure, but he just might be my favorite comic book character of all-time. So layered and dead set on not being influenced by the world around him. I can easily say that this character alone changed my political views while reading this novel. Hardcore liberal before, and while I will never call myself a conservative, this character definitely opened me up to another world.

Is it bad that i let my views be influenced by something like a graphic novel? Probably, but oh well.
